We know what he thought of the last one. Can this be any better?

Many thanks for this upload - don't know why it wasn't uploaded on the kermodeandmayo channel.

2:17 Gran Torino was a really good film IMHO. It helped that the 'revenge' part was only towards the back end of the film and time was spent building up Eastwood's character.

4:28 Death Wish 3 has Bronson doing 'Home Alone' style traps [such as daggers in spring loaded boards!] and that was made 5 years before Home Alone

I actually enjoyed this movie! It's not a classic or gonna get any awards but it's like an 80s revenge action thriller! Quite brutal in parts but satisfying seeing bad things happen to bad guys!

I thought it was fine. It’s not exactly BAFTA material but it was fairly entertaining.

It’s a disgusting end to a great beginning. First Blood stood for something. Vietnam vets who’d been forgotten and persecuted by their own country. All Last Blood stands for is how many bums on seats can Stallone get. $60m on a $50m budget suggests not that mAny. This is a disgrace. Still going to see it though.

I usually agree with Mark but I’m sorry Kermode your wrong . This was a throwback to a great age of action movies

I belly-laughed so hard when Rambo ripped out the big-bad's heart with his bare hands.  The perfectly ridiculous climax to a ridiculous movie.

It’s not a well made film but what the hell, overalI I enjoyed it. Sometimes you just need to satisfy your basic needs of seeing raw justice delivered in a brutal way by a screen icon.

Rotten tomatoes - critic score 26% (144 reviews) audience score 82 % (6, 366 verified ratings). Seems like the target audience really enjoyed it. It’s not meat headed nonsense. This is for the fans of Stallone and raw action and what a breath of fresh air it is, with Star Wars being ruined and all the other virtue signalling clap trap that comes out of Hollywood these days. Stallone fan since I was 8, now 46 and I loved Last Blood. Really grateful for the opportunity to get to see Stallone in one of his iconic roles in the cinema again. It was clear from the trailers what this movie was going to be like. So in that respect it delivers in spades. Can’t wait to see it again.

This is where I don't get the way Mark reviews movies. He said Angel Has Fallen was an enjoyable B Movie, when quite clearly it was meant to be a serious movie. But nonetheless he enjoyed it. And then he lays into Last Blood saying it's meatheaded. Angel Has Fallen was meatheaded too, but that didn't seem be an issue to him. There's no consistency in his reviews. Except maybe there is? If he has a soft spot for someone then he grants them leniency - like Shut Up Buttwad and the Stathe - who star in the most ridiculous movies, but he says he enjoys them. But Tarantino, Bay, Stallone and others can never do any right.

First Blood...was a classic gritty realism, and struggles, of a war damaged vet, and his integration back into civilian rest of the franchise should be accepted for what they are....high octane, ultra violent, over the top comic book action but without the believable drama of the first.

Regarding David Morrell's critic, this is why studios try and get the old actors to give new films a thumbs up to avoid bad publicity [see James Cameron praising Terminator Genysis which he's later say he only did as a favor to Arnie].
The studio offered $750, 000 (£432, 000) to Gerry Anderson to attend the premiere-and presumably give the film a thumbs up, to Thunderbirds 2004 which he later branded '"the biggest load of crap I have ever seen in my entire life.". They clearly wanted his approval to avoid bad publicity

Stallone has done more with the last five years of his life than the pompous Kermode will do in a lifetime.

I thought Last Blood could have been a better movie if it was only just another Stallone Kickass movie instead. Sure oddly its as like a Mexican themed Taken and His character could have been called any name. But I actually besides those nitpics liked the movie mostly, the last like a part or two and the 13 minutes are so EPIC in the tunnels. A 7.5 out of a Booshty Ten I gave it. I thonk especially nowadays sometimes it seems the Public takes certain type movies way too seemingly serious.

Why have we never seen Rambo go to the toilet in 5 movies? Couldnt he use the fecal matter as a weapon or camouflage or something?

I snobbishly dismissed the Rambo films for years without having seen them, but I started watching them recently (I am halfway through the fourth) and so far I absolutely love them.

Something happened to Stallone after Kermode interviewed him. Maybe he got replaced with a clone O_o

Dislike the film as much as you want, but describing Stallone in the insulting way he does at the end... he's not exactly a looker is he, Kermode? Also imagine, the uproar if he had insulted the looks of an aging actress? Hypocrite.

Tony Scott's Man on Fire was like 'Taken' in Mexico before Taken was made! Denzil Washington is great as a guy out to rescue a kidnapping victim even if it's a bit too long at nearly 2 hours 30 mins.
