Thanks Steve & Yamaha. New Recording Custom keep Coming Back. These are the real deal. I hope they sound even better and tonally more beautiful than they look. Mine are arriving in September 2018 why in black of course. Keep playing your drums.

Peace

Still love my RC. 22", 10", 12", 16". Black of course😉 Just switched to coated emperors on toms and powerstroke 3 coated on bass. Sounds amazing!

I agree if it doesn’t need to be fixed, leave it alone as like saying, I’m gonna take the black beauty and make it better. It’s probably the best it will ever be. Plus I noticed on the badge it says China I bought a China Yamaha birch stage, custom snare and I sold it, It didn’t sound good the Yamaha recording custom brass snare sounds really good made in Taiwan. it actually sounds better than those more expensive heavy brass snare drums.

i defo wouldn't put the money into buying a new RC kit, been using a RC from the 80's made in england i got used for 450 euros in fine conditions (rack tom, floor tom and bass drum, 10"/14"/20") and been loving it ever since
those floor toms and bass drum sound amazing in this video tho!

why would Yamaha redesign a classic kit based on the sole opinions of just one drummer? I prefer the old recipe.
