Quick Release Vice Build - The Mechanism

When I stumbled across this type of quick release vice I was very intrigued by how it worked. After some digging around I understood it and decided to make one for myself. It took a couple of years to get around to it, I needed a little time to tinker so I was waiting for the right opportunity and I ended up forgetting about it. This week I finally gave it a crack and it was a project that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The next video will be the vice build using this mechanism.

Thank You for your thoughtful gesture. This instructional video helped me understand how the mechanism actually works and functions in the wood shop. I enjoy making my own tools and this will definitely be an improvement over the 3 vices presently stationed in my small shop. That was a cool project. Don't ever let someone talk you out of saving money by making something. They are just jealous because they don't know how to do it themselves. I've never seen a lock like that; it took a smart dude to come up with that type of lock. I looking forward to the build.
