We are making custom 1/2 inch steel pipe curtain rods for out back patio. I used the Goplus Ratchet Pipe Threader Kit to thread the pipes for our curtain rods. I have never used one of these before. So I took some time to figure it out and I wanted to share what I have learned.

Thanks for demoing, I wasn't sure how these fit on. Now I will buy one. Ignore the naysayers here, but do break the chips, it will make it better.

Might want to put on some work boots. Wearing sandles is very dumb.

You never reversed or backed up to allow the metal chips to clear. You did mention it, but never did so. This would have made the next few threads easier to cut, cleaner, and goes a long way to preserving the life of your tool. Then you used a screwdriver to clean the chips from the die. A toothbrush and additional cutting oil would have worked without damaging the die.

Just to make it more interesting, you "secured" the pipe in such a way that if you released the tension, you would now have a pipe wrench missile going in some undetermined direction. All this with no sign of any PPE. The trash can mysteriously moved, and you are now standing in cutting oil, hoping that your feet don't suddenly fly out from under you.

I hope, for your family's sake, that you have an exceptionally good insurance policy.
