The Witch is a 2015 A24 horror movie directed by Robert Eggers, starring Anya Taylor-Joy. The Witch is one of those movies that I will always remember because of just how insane it is. It's one of the best, and most disturbing horror movies to come out in the past decade. In this video, I go through the plot of The Witch and talk about why I think it's so insane and iconic. I also talk about why I think the horror in this movie works so well.

Upon my only watch, I totally missed the grinding of the baby. During the whole movie, I was like, "will they ever find that baby?" With this revelation, this movie is so much more horrific than I ever thought.

The actor who played Caleb should have been nominated for some sort of award. That long drawn out scene in the upstairs loft is simply horrifying and he absolutely sells out. So convincing.

I love the symbolism, William is always angry when chopping the wood, he uses it to blow off steam, by the end he's basically buried by his own incompetent wrath, every pride-full and selfish decision leading to his unglamorous end, he doesn't even get to finish his delusional of grandeur speech.

There’s a pretty old Nigerian cult horror movie called Billionaires Club, where a man sacrifices his new born child to a cult for riches and a witch grinds the baby up in a cauldron. When I first watched the VVITCH, the similar baby grinding scene reminded me of the horror I felt as a child when I first watched Billionaires Club. The idea of grinding a human with a pestle is so insane, but to do such to a baby is a level of brutality you cannot forget, even if it’s just a movie.

The VVITCH is definetly one of my favorite horror movies. Sure, it is spooky from time to time but the emotional bombardment of feeling sorry for Thomasin and the slow but steady decline of the familys sanity is so well done. And I totaly agree with "some scenic moments are longer than they should be". Just uneasy the whole 92 minutes rly
