I'm sure you learned the actual history about this, but the connection to Joakim himself is pretty interesting too. And maybe you didn't come across that detail.
Joakim has "family on both sides of this one". Joakim obviously is swedish, but his mother is Czech by birth and is from/around Prague, so little Joakim used to go to Prague every summer to meet relatives.
He has dual citizenship of Sweden & Czech Republic. He always seems very fond of Prague specifically and Czech Republic in general!

I actually stood on Charles Bridge (Karluv Most) in 2019, I played this song on my phone and just stood there thinking about what happened 375 years earlier looking at the Vltava river and I just took it all in. There was a big thunderstorm that passed over and the bridge was all wet and empty because of the rain, so I had most of it to myself for a few minutes!

1648 is the end of 30 year war in Europe, Sabaton have more songs about this war, recomend to do history episodes but its very dark 😅

I recommend you to listen to the swedish version with English text. The lyric are quite different. Togheter the 2 versions is like britten from 2 different perspective on same happening.
Sa also the Sabaton history about the happenings around the songs. I have posted links to bouth videos. Recomend strongly. You would understand a lot more from that.
