I am a new bee to Vmware. Indeed it saved my day to configure ISCSI hosts in customer environment. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Keep it coming !!

Preparing for interview, this video certainly helps. Also good to remember port 3260 is used for iSCSI. Lastly, always good to remember networking on host is mandatory before using any type of storage whether iSCSI, NFS or FC.

Yes, I am aware this is non-standard. Honestly in a private network there is no "wrong": I am simply moving mask bits around. I would generally follow the class rules in a larger network, but in our small network using /24 denotes the fact that it is isolated. Mismatching subnets is a fairly common occurrence in small private networks. Probably not the best thing in the world, but it was in place long before I got there and it's not the first time I have seen it.

Thank you for the video, the music is very distracting, I had to mute it.

@ehtaonene Killed the music due to popular demand. How about a little smooth Jazz? :)

Yes please if possible, try to dub a smooth jazz tune to this if youtube would allow you to do this. I haven't considered iSCSI yet but when I get my 6TB server, I am planning to connect my VMware server to the 6TB file server via iSCSI.

Good video except your subnet mask was entirely wrong. A default subnet mask for a class A range, without subnetting, is 255.0.0.0. In your video you specificed the subnet mask as 255.255.255.0.
