In this mario kart 8 deluxe video, I am Testing Shortcat's "Best" Controller for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe...! I took the advice from Shortcat and gave a gamecube controller a try in some online mario kart races and I actually think I played better! Not sure if I just got in bad lobbies though, but the gamecube controller might be the BEST controller for mario kart 8 deluxe on the Nintendo Switch. My content is inspired by laiyenz, Shortcat, scott the woz, Chillyn', and Macho Nacho Productions.

Bc we talked about the pro guide, I thought, he will not play with a GC controller because of shortcat sometime right?
A few tips:
Do yk about soft drifting? You can reset the Controller in a certain way, so when you hold the diagonal up right/left notch you turn as wide as possible, while you get the fastest Turbo charge rate. For the Glider, you have to turn on motion controls and use the dpad and left Stick to turn, bc the gc controller does not have a motion sensor. And please drift with Z and not R.

you turn motion controls on, and since gamecube controllers doesn't have motion sensors, the d-pad counts as the motion control. so just hold left/right on the stick and left/right d-pad to do the motion glider thing.

And you HAVE to release A while gliding, since you cannot slow down on gliders.

As someone whose first console was a GameCube, I REALLY like the GameCube controller. Going from that to the Wii controller was...difficult lol. Maybe that's why I like the Switch Pro Controller so much, cause it's like the GameCube controller and NOT like the Wii controller. 😅

If you want to do the Motion Glider you have to use the D pad with the Joystick, for example left on the Joystick and left on the D pad

hi! this was a realy great video. keep them up! and also to do the tilt thing you need to press the dpad AND the stick at the same time (the dpad emulates the tilt) because gamecube controler aint 2006, dosnt have gyro.
