From southern Connecticut I can't tell you how much we miss Bradlee's and Caldor. They always had a huge toy sale in October. My wife and I would each grab a shopping cart and get nearly everything the kids wanted. We still miss them.

My mom used to buy EVERYTHING at Bradlees. In fact, 2 years ago when I was cleaning their house I still found a few things with Bradlees price tags! 🙂

In 1963, when BRADLEES opened in the downtown shopping center in my hometown of Torrington, Connecticut, I was one of their first customers. When they closed in the 1980s, the store manager let be be the last customer...

I worked in two departments, Toys and housewares, in the Yarmouth MA Bradlees in the early 70's. It was a very friendly workplace. I enjoyed a Christmas season spending a lot of time on a tall ladder installing Christmas decorations for the store.

My store was on Park Street in Hartford CT. I still have an armoire I bought there as well as a bakers rack. Quality was superb. I miss Bradlees 😢

When I lived in Hartford in the 70s, I remember Bradlees as our ''go to'' store.

My first official job was at the Bradlees in South Plainfield, NJ. My mom had already been working there and got me an interview. After HS, I worked full time as a store detective for Bradlees, mainly in the Clark, NJ store. I have a lot of good memories about Bradlees. Thanks for the video.

Bradlees was a staple in my childhood! I still have an alarm clock I got in 1979 from my local Bradlees! I remember buying a lot of Christmas presents for my parents and sister as a child there, too. Yeah and records and cassettes!

I loved Bradlees in Westbrook, Maine. They even had a pet store, great clothes and the latest albums and 45s.

Chelmsford Massachusetts had a Bradlees, Caldor and Kmart. They were all part of my childhood. I still put up the fake Christmas tree my mother bought at Bradlees in the 80's every year with my kids. THANKS BRADLEES!!!

When I was a kid in the 90’s there were a a few stores we went to. 2 that really stick out in my memory being from Connecticut. Bradlee’s and also Caldor’s. We had a lot of those in our area.

So cool … my hometown Bradlees with the stone facade and grand opening sign. Chelsea Mass Parkway Plaza. Seems my whole family worked there every Christmas season!

I miss Bradlees . My mom loved that place. I miss her too. But times changed, cut-throat competition moved in and people could not be bothered to even be even nice to each other anymore. At least we have the memories of better times.

I always remember my Mom taking me to the Bradlees in NE Philly around Christmas time for shopping. We'd get a big pretzel and soda and just walk around buying gifts for the family; I still have the light up Christmas Houses we bought there. Thank you for the video.

I remember in the 80s when it was in massachusetts at the cape cod mall my grandmother loved that place and would take me with her all the time =(

Thank you so much for this. I used to work at Bradlees from 1981 to about 1988. New City, New York (Rockland County). The nearby bus stop remained long after the store closed. That's where I met my wife, about 2010 sometime. We were friends for a few years before we started going together.

I remember Bradlees fondly. I never knew it's history like this, even though I grew up living two miles from Bradley Int'l Airport and my Mother working for Stop and Shop for 30 years. 😊
