@lLaceration Its a pickup under the bridge saddle.There is a video on the tube where a guy mounted a guitar neck to a concrete block and installed his piezo pickup on it.It sounded like a 2000 dollar guitar!

IMO the revision 2 (still the one with the upper cutout) JP6 mystic will always be the best one.

I've played several of the new ones, BFR's, etc (though obviously looking to get my hands on this one as well) and yet none of them seem to offer anything more than my original JP6.

What I'd like to know is, there is a model with a chambered body with purple sparkles, but this one is red, but no longer has a chambered body? Instead it has a basswood body with a mahogany tone block. Both sound great. I think I like this one better.

I am still amazed that John Petrucci models are bolt on necks instead of set necks or neck through. All my Washburns are bolt ons and I LOVE them personally.

The JPX line is not an iphone because they're not upgrades, they are variations of an amazing guitar (The BFR). All of them are of equal quality, including the very first non-BFR model. We just get more tonal options! Why would anyone complain?

Also I'd rather have more tone options than more color finishes...

@gnrcr same with me...but there's some MusicMan JP by OLP guitars.. u can buy one for about 300e and it's very gooood :)

Bursted BFR have very high quality top woods on them (mostly visuality) and that's why they cost more. Finishing those might cost more to them as well.

I wonder why this guitar, the jp 10 and the jp11 are priced lower than the regular bursted BFR's?

The more JP models they release, the more the older ones get devalued, the closer I am to being able to afford one :D

It's exactly like the previous JP except with a 20" radius fretboard (slightly flatter) and different colors. Everything else is the same.

the only difference from the 2011 model is that:
the body is basswood
stainless steel frets

still wondering which model to get when i sell off my legs to fund a jp guitar.

@gnrcr I agree, I don't need some fancy pants maple top, it's just an awesome guitar and everyone should have one. Hahaha. But this one looks great too.
