What is Flutter?

Released in 2017, Flutter is an open-source framework built by Google used for creating natively compiled, multi-platform applications from a single code base.

The Flutter Framework is written in the Dart programming language, and utilizes a widget-based architecture. The framework is built on top of a C/C++ Flutter Engine which integrates with the Embedder.

The Flutter Embedder takes the dart code and compiles it down to native machine code for different devices, giving you near-native performance, while also allowing you to publish to iOS, android, web, desktop, and embedded devices.

Flutter is used in the real world by companies such as Ebay, Toyota, Groupon, and many others.

Due to all of its benefits, I chose to use Flutter for my startup called Aria. I can write one code base, and then have a cross-platform app that runs at near-native performance. For those who don’t know, Aria is a music platform I am developing with the idea of connecting users of all platforms. Flutter is an important tool I use, so that answers the question.
