Wisc. Protesters Establish Foothold in State Capitol

As long as any house in the Wisconsin State Legislature remains in session, the Capitol must remain open to the public.

Although they have helped distrupt official proceedings in Madison, protesters have been in the Capitol Building for so long, they've set up their own society complete with a de-facto functioning government.

They create, post and enforce rules, organize sleeping arrangements, and coordinate food deliveries.

Liberal observers marvel at the beauty of it all, while others mockingly say it evokes more of a 'Lord of the Flies' vibe.

I didn't say anyone invoking "Lord of the Flies" in the video. And definitely haven't witnessed or heard of any cannibalism in the Capitol.

I am proud of my state for keeping its Capitol open to the public. Wisconsin government has a tradition (not always perfectly observed) of recognizing that its power comes from the people and the people should have access to it. Wish more conservatives would exercise their right to sleep in the Capitol, too.
