'Olive' by Jake Chudnow [HD]

Most synth sounds are the Juno 6, some soft synths used, and the drums are layered but the most present layer is a Roland 707.

Created this one in my bedroom while procrastinating rehearsal for a live set.

If life had a soundtrack, I'd hope Jake is the composer.

Jake Chudnow is truly brilliant. Does he put these videos together himself? The subliminal imagery is fucking astonishing, these videos captivate my imagination at such a deep level, it’s practically spiritual. Every time I see a frame, I wonder “what is the message behind this? What did he mean by that? What is the greater message he’s trying to convey?”. Presumably, he did not film any of these clips himself. He’s just a wizard of mining the internet for beautiful, obscure footage, and assembling it into intriguing works of art. He’s a talent the world needs to see more from. I’m truly moved by his videos and music.

This is the song you would faintly hear in the background if you saw a flashback of your life when you died

I can't express how much I miss 2012, 2013 and 2014. Vsauce is that rare YouTuber I have an authentic, potent nostalgia for. This piece embodies that nostalgia. Those were the days man, those were the days...

The warbling synth pulls my emotions around like I’m a little moon circling a gas giant

It must be overwhelming to lie in bed at night and think of the number of people you've had a significant emotional impact on, myself included. Hundreds of thousands of individual people, and something you created yourself holds a special place in their mind, and will do until death. That's incredible.

This is hands down one of Jake Chudnow's best songs, and it's my absolute favorite.

10641. Hey Jake, I know you’ll probably never read this, but please never stop making music. Your songs and art are absolute masterpieces, and you’re without a doubt my favorite composer. The sounds and frequencies you create are some of the best and deepest things I’ve ever heard in my life. Nostalgic, profound, timeless... Listening to your music is an experience that's really hard to put into words. It reaches the deepest parts of my consciousness and being, something unexplainable yet profoundly moving. Thank you so much for creating these.

I spent a night listening to this back in 2017.

I listened to it in the car on the way to school when morning came.

Since the previous year, I had been planning to take my own life. Through the pain I felt, I found some sort of comfort in this music.

That morning at school, an announcement was made to the students. That night, my friend Tyler, had taken his own life.

The piece took on a new meaning for me.

I cherish this work of art in his memory.

Thank you.

THE LIBRARY OF BABEL

“It’s a truly eerie experience. Because, you can find the permanent location for ANY 3200 character text. You can find in this library, the description of your birth. Every possible description of your death. Every poem, every joke, every lie, anything that could be said can be found on this site. This thing, blurs the line between invention and discovery. Did you really discover or invent that thing, if its’ description already existed? 10^5000 different pages are offered by the Library of Babel. In comparison, there are only 10^80 atoms in the observable universe. I searched for what I’ve just said, and sure enough in this hexagon, on this wall, this shelf, in this volume, on this page, it’s there. Hello.”

Saudade - an emotional state of melancholic or profoundly nostalgic longing for something or someone that one loves despite it not necessarily being real or they reciprocate it back.
This word perfectly depicts the aura of this song. It is truly beautiful.

10216 - Also sent here after the music gave me chills in Summoning Salt's vid, and that 2 numbers disappeared; just like the guy that didn't got home for 12 years.

Somehow this makes me feel melancholic yet peaceful. Like an uneasy lullaby that rocks you into a deep sleep, and when you wake up you can't remember what you just dreamt but it feels like you've been sleeping for a really long time. You know that feel?

10753 There are so many stories out there, so many lives. It seems there's no point in trying to learn about any of them. 10753 people cared enough to comment a number to this video, and not 1% of them got even a second glance for their efforts. Looking at others' lives takes valuable time. Live your own life, make your own story, not for others to see but for yourself. Feel free to stop by any time and shout your story into the endless void. Let it fade into the background. You'll be contributing to the greatest thing humanity has ever created: Humanity itself.

Also if you're reading this, Christopher, this is a reminder that things will be okay. You will feel happy again, and it doesn't matter how long it takes, because it will be worth everything.
