Jupu Group is one of the bands from the Finnish Progressive Rock genre that is included in our list of single-album legends. Our knowledge about them is limited. We know that the band's name comes from Juhani Poutanen, one of the important Jazz violinists of the period. It is obvious that Poutanen's nickname is Jupu and they chose this name because he is a well-known musician. Apart from this, we know that the group broke up right after the recording of the album and that they did not even see the release of the album. Released a few months after the dissolution of Jupu Group, Ahmoo!

The album may not be considered a masterpiece when considered as Finnish Fusion, Progressive Rock or Jazz Rock. But it is an album that has effects far beyond the average. Especially the violin proficiency and creative compositions of Poutanen, who gave the band its name, elevate Ahmoo! from its peers. Again, due to Poutanen, the violin comes to the fore in the album, which is very understandable.

On the other hand, there is also an instrumental Heavy Prog atmosphere led by guitar, electric piano and moog. For this reason, it is not right to just call the album Fusion or label it as Jazz Rock. They have managed to create a structure of their own by drawing on different genres and styles. And this structure is not shallow enough to be placed under the heading of just one genre.
