What a way to start a Friday morning, Ray riding a Z900, that is a really nice bike. I would like to add this one to the stable with my Yamaha.

Z900 looks better, feels more like a sport bike, prettier, more power and torque. The Riding position on the z900 is a lot better than the mt-09. The mt-09 feels like I'm sitting on a dirt bike.

Love your enthusiasm Ray. I have a '22 black and twilight blue Z900 sitting 5 foot from me in the foyer. Ridden it about 15k miles and have to say, this is a great machine. Smooth as silk and torquey as can be. Had a Z900RS and sold it and kept this. Bought a new red gsxs1000gt and by the seat of the pants, the Z's engine is stronger all through the rev range. Took the gt on a 2500 mile trip a few months ago and the ecu definitely needs to be flashed. Had an mt09 and prefer the Z. The Nissin brakes up front are actually stronger than the Brembos on the gt. No QS and I like it. The gt's is turned off. Love Z900's!

Another banger by Ray. Detailed and well ridden. Would love to see you cover the Kawasaki 900RS, Triumph Street Triple 1200 RS and the Honda CB750 Hornet next please.

I have the 2023 version of the same bike, the same colour scheme, etc., and I love it! My only wish is that I held out for the 2025 model to get cruise control, a quick shifter and a few other fun electronics to play with. Oh well, chasing tech is a losing battle.

It goes without saying there are faster, lighter and more agile (frequently more expensive goes along with that) motorcycles, but for a low-tech, good power, more than agile enough for the streets bike, this checked all the boxes for me. It's fine around town, has a big 4-cylinder engine that's butter smooth, has plenty of torque (not an insane application like the MT-09; still fun, though, lol) to do first-gear power wheelies and is agile enough to use 8/10 of its capabilities on the street. (I always keep some in reserve).

Ok. I love the Z900 and was going back and forth between the 2021 MT-09 and 21 Z900. I did pull the trigger on the MT-09 for the simple fact of quick shift and auto blip, 6 axis IMU, lift control. I love the in-line 4, but bang for the buck and what the MT had, it was a no brainer. On the 23 MT-10 now, fully worked and tuned and that’s a beast. I’m not looking for crazy top speed but low down torque almost anywhere in the rev range. If Kawi ever makes the z900 with quick shift up and down with cruise control, that would be the ultimate naked.

Great video- I did Yamaha demo days and got to rip on a XSR900, same motor set up as MT09. It doesn’t pull as hard or as quick as my Z900.

Been on both MT-09 & Z900 imho Kawasaki has always made engineering decisions based on user experience and expectations in harsh wind conditions that 463lb weight is very essential for the everyday rider I've done 400 mile round trips with Continental Conti-motion tires and they're way better than what Dunlops arrive from factory the Dunlops honestly don't handle the torque from either bike but with a proper baffle delete and muffler upgrade and ECU retune you can expect a good 152hp unlocked from 948cc if I was mostly a city rider 90% I'd stick to a MT09 but if you like the occasional long road trip Z900 all the way both won't disappoint

I don't know why these manufacturers are failing so hard. If you're going to put an Ohlins shock on it, put Ohlins forks on it. Replacing a shock for an aftermarket unit is easy, replacing forks is hard. Both Kawasaki and Yamaha seem to be really half-assing their "special edition" bikes lately.

Those Z900s seem like they'd be the perfect daily ripper. Gobs of power, sounds fantastic, and personally I think the Z bikes look better than most of the MTs. If you handed me the keys to that Kawi and an MT09SP I think I'd have a hard time choosing. Always love the videos Ray!

Hey Ray, great video! I love the Z900 SE; I just picked up the "RS" version. I love the Brembo upgrade...may take me a while to appreciate/dial-in the Ohlin upgrade. Ride safe my friend!

Ray, question for ya, Brother. How were the vibrations on this bike? The mid range vibes on my parallel twin are making my hands numb
