There's something beautiful about the combination of antique sounds and new technology.
As though it represents the undying balance between tradition and progress.
Suiting for a game about building space empires.

The breathtaking scenery of a slowly rotating protostellar dust disk is seen behind the huge panoramic window of the leading scientific spaceship. Standing in front of that window, top scientist *Harald Petrov* gives a lecture to a distant auditorium about on-going observation, while his team is eager to re veryfy the proper functioning of an armada of space probes to be ready for the big moment. ( 1:57) Suddenly a wave of shaking goes through the ship blowing all the dust away from the center of the disk. After a few smaller rocks exploded on ship's protection shield, they could see in the distance the virginal flare of a nuclear fusion.
.. In 2224, a new star was born. And humanity has realized that for the first time they will affect all future events in a new born solar system.

Serious Vangelis vibes on most of this soundtrack (Spiral, Bladerunner, etc.), with a dash of Jean-Michel Jarre and Mike Oldfield. Where they pioneered, others have followed and evolved, and this is no exception. Excellent stuff.

I feel like this is the meaning of sci-fi, mystery, excitement, blend of mysticism and science
