I have done the same mod to my 800d, it looks amazing! Thanks for the idea!

That looks nice ! I scrapped my 800D a while ago as it was just too big switched to an O11 dynamic . That front mod is awesome, would have been nice to see an updated modern 800d from corsair.

Thanks so much for this video, It’s exactly what I was looking for!
Everyone else seems to have moved on from the 800D but I still love mine and was looking for a way to add front fans to help cooling, so I hope you don’t mind me copying your idea!

Wow, I've been looking for something like this for a while. Glad to see it's not only possible but looks great.

Very fun to hear your experience.. I am in Ontario, also bought it 10 years ago at the ridiculous msrp hahaha, never knew about the rubber mount and rubber plate.

Really like what you did to the 800D I also have owned one since its inception. I just cleaned mine up and getting it ready for a build. My front IO hinge broke on mine and I'm looking to do something similar to what you have done was looking for ideas to remove the 3.5 hard drive cage since I've gone to NVME or SSD for my builds now. You earned my sub nice job.

This video is awesome! I bought a Corsair 800D for 20 dollars on OfferUp it was missing all the optical bay covers but after watching this video you inspired me to mod it thank you

Never thought I'd see the exact same mods i did to mine! We even got the same preference in newer cases too. I've had my 800D since I saw the skull crusher case mod on youtube a while ago. The 800D is a buy it for life product, best quality case I've touched ever.

I love my 800D, so so so much. The airflow is fine if you set it up correctly for chambers. Did a smoke test and it was very good surprisingly.

That said, I wish I could the old usb 3.0 upgrade they released, I didn't buy it at the time and am sad about that.
I DID get the SATA3 upgrade pane though!

Cool mods! I have mine filled with drives. the 5.25" bays will be getting two 5.25 in. Drive Bay to Triple 3.5 in. HDD Cooling Box from Evercool. WIll be throwing in 4 SAS drives for a total of 26TB. The case is huge, heavy and built to last.

Quick swap bay was one of the best features of the case. Top mount was meant for a 360 radiator block and Top rear grommets for a external radiator, so with a good loop you didn't really need all the air flow. Sadly Corsair stopped selling replacement parts for the thing like a year after it was released.

Great Vid! I am rebuilding mine right now! Glad to see others still love theirs too. I see you have the upgrade USB 3.0 front panel as well. I was lucky enough to find a NIB front panel on eBay a few months ago. I am going with all Corsair parts this time, although there are some better out there. Went with a iCue H150i Elite Capellix for the top 360, all new Corsair ML and QL fans with light node and light strips. I wish the bottom 3.5" bay was easily removable, as I would like to add a fan there - don't use it. I still use the 4 hot swap bays, and love them. I removed the lame SATA 2 backplate and use these drives with a RAID card. I also still actively use two of the 5.25" bays for ripping/burning. I just found Etsy (lol) and an awesome 3D printed (3x5.25") bay to 120mm fan mount for one extra intake while still keeping my drives. :)

Nice build! Low-key Corsair is doing great with the cases lately to me.

How did you remove that small black billet frame above the HDD Drive dock swinging door & below the 5.25 bay covers? On your YouTube video you said it comes out but it's a permanent piece right? Thank you!!

hey thanks for this! i am putting together a 10th gen intel build but wanted to mount my GPU's radiator on the front, similar to how you have done with the intake fans. can you please let me know how you attached that 360mm bracket? it appears that it was bolted into the 5.25 bay. Can you share the bolt/washer size you used? Thanks.

How, what and where did you get the vertical mount for your gpu? Also, i have the same case and removed the firewire and other unused connectors, desoldered them, fit some blue leds between some of the “open” parts and covered them with hotglue to make “cheapo optical” diffusers, then I had some black gaffer tape I cut to size and it looks mint.

this is exactly what I want to do. What did you use to cut the metal top off the SATA drive bay thing you removed? I need to do this to my 800D also. A Dremel rotary tool or something like that?
