I don't understand. How can one get a numpy array back when scipy is loaded and numpy is not loaded?

If loc is mean, then why not write mean instead of loc?
If scale is standard deviation, then why not write something more closely resembling those words? No wonder computer science is so cryptic and difficult to learn. The programmers make it cryptic on purpose. SQL is one of the worst, but it is about 1/2 century old now, so I guess those earlier programmers can be forgiven.
