It Gets Better Project helped me finally come out as a lesbian to my mother a few weeks ago and I'm 43 yrs old and because she loves and excepts me for who I am ~ my fear of her finding out went away and now, I can finally say, It really does GET BETTER :) And I went to my very first Pride Parade here in Austin Tx and it was awesome!

I did alot of street performing starting in 1997- A man on the street w/ a background in ballet & orissi dance doing a hula-hoop show- everyone awesumed I was gay. I was the brunt of many "jokes", slurs, & several times physically assault with fists & blunt instruments. I heard the word "fag" preceding every single attack. Im straight, but never once denied being gay to my attackers. there is no honor in that. Im still out there and I feel there is a lot more open mindedness- its getting better

I am 19 years old - gay. There any many nights like this: lying in my bed, nearly crying, hating who I am. I live in Germany and at this moment I can't believe it gets better.. My parents, my friends just everyone that I know makes fun of gays or insults them. I don't know how and when to come out. I think if I would come out by now, I would be alone. No one would be there. I just think I am, and ever will be alone, because there is no hope from my point of view. I am lost in this world.

Honestly, i don't know "what" I am. Is there anyone els than me that feels like this? I'm 25, and i really can't say, "I'm bisexual." Cuz, im not sure.

Im not lezbein but I had friends who were ashamed of who they were, and I say the world needs to grow up, get over it, and learn to change!
But if the world can get over the whole "race" thing I have faith that it can get over this too!
Yes but 100% of the world will but as we can all see day by day more and more people are. Dont let haters get you down and keep u hidden, just remember your never alone, there ARE people out there who understand you!
