After pasting back to the switch, how do you save the pasted configuration?

What about the username and password or enable password? On the config file it doesn't show the real password. When it's copy and paste like that, does those value get copied as well and would result in a changed password? Which will lock you out? Do we need to delete the username and password command lines!?

This is not a safe method to paste complete configs via putty to Cisco routers ... on certain operations they need more CPU time and cannot operate continous input. This will lead to missing charakters and wrong configurations - better use flash or TFTP
