ESSENTIAL VIDEOS TO RELEASE YOUR MUSIC:

📚 MY BOOKS:

👇 ABOUT ME:
Hey! I'm Damian Keyes and I've worked with musicians every day of my life for the past 20 years. The internet is deeply untrusting understandably and here is my background so you can have the full picture.

When I was 18, I was signed to a major label (dropped 6 months later) and at 23 I co-founded a Music University in Europe called BIMM (valued at $300M). I’m also a bass player, I’ve played for a number of artists including Eric Clapton, Alanis Morrisette and Billy Cobham. I initially retired at 30, but realised that life gets boring if you’re not building!

I have always been in-between the music industry and education which is how I ended up building my YouTube channel - I’ve been teaching artists how to release music long before it was a ‘niche’! I now educate artists around the world with my Academy, YouTube channel and I work directly with labels internationally alongside owning a live agency and management company.

It’s great to meet you and looking forward to working together on your music!

Number 7 is something i asked on live session roughly a month ago. I asked what to expect and any advice. You suggested Send press Release and when they ask questions respond with "that reminds me of..." to lead the interview instead. That by the way was really helpful! Because of that they liked me a lot and someone in the station offered me an opener act for someone who was introduced on bbc before this Sunday which is actually the first gig in my career :) Thanks Damo!

Thanks again bro, some great advice. I remember the days of thinking that recording the music was the majority of work! The process is fun though, can be a little frustrating, but fun! Number 3 and 4 were great. I think ads are one of the only way to reach more people... then the question is how to deliver a successful ad... 'this hole just seems to never end'... that's actually some lyrics from my new song Madness! ;)

When I look at myself as a musical persona, I have been the most introverted guy ever. I dont know anyone in the music industry and I have no idea how to release something or where to begin meeting with people that are in this line of work. Your videos make great points and Im glad that I found you. Cheers!

Hey Damian, thank you for the great tips again!
Do you know if there's a point where it's just too late for a track? For instance if you try to bring back to life a song on youtube or Spotify months after its release, is there no chance to spike the algorithm and get on Discover Weekly for example?

Thanks Damo, this was really helpful and I'll take it to heart. It really is a big issue for me not to "annoy" people by spamming them. I'll try it on TikTok first cause there I feel more confident since I don't have followers who actually know me hehe
