Selenium Builder 1 - Introduction and Getting started (UI Automation)

Today we will learn:

1. What is Selenium Builder
2. How to install and get started with Se Builder
3. How to Record a small UI Automation Test (Login)
4. How to Run the recorded test on Selenium Server
5. How to export the recorded test in different programming languages

Step 1 : Firefox - install Se Builder - restart Firefox

Step 2 : Firefox - Tools - Web Developer - Launch Se Builder

Step 3 : Start recording

Step 4 : Run the recorded test on Se Server
A. Download Se Server jar
B. Place the jar at any location
C. CMD / Terminal - goto the location of the jar file
D. java -jar “jar file”

Step 5 : Run and validate your test

Step 6 : Saving and exporting recorded test

Note: download the latest geckodriver for your OS and put the binary in the same directory as your standalone server jar.

Nice tutorial..
Can you tell me, What is the difference bet. Selenium Builder and IDE. Which one to choose for complex UI testing, I mean there are certain limitations in IDE for Iframes UI testing.. and others. So does the Builder is capable to overcome such issues.

Hi Raghav, When I tried to add selenium builder to my firefox it is showing as "This add-on is not compatible with your version of Firefox."My Firefox version is 61.0.2(64-bit).Should I need to use katalon instead?

I am facing multiple issues while trying with wordpress login script on selenium-2.53.1, and firefox 40 and,

1) Sever is starting in 0.0.0.0:4444 as below:

2) can see only three options under run in se-builder
- run on Selenium Server
- run suite on selenium server
- share state across suit

3) when run its throwing following error:

i have tried se builder with firefox 52, 39 and 40 and nd 2.53.1 but i have issues .
when i use it with it tell me that he need the driver but i dont know how to configure driver for se builder and thanks a lot.
