Good news! Or is it, because this new (don’t snigger) Bigster is taking Dacia out of cheap and cheerful territory and up towards the heady heights of £30k. Is it a step too far for the Romanian budget brand?

So it doesn't tear round the corners, or accelerate so fast, I'm sure that was the last of Dacias concerns, what they set out to do was produce an everyday car for everyday people, at an affordable price. They have absolutely nailed it....

Dacia is an amazing brand. I used to share the wheel of my wife’s 1.5 AWD turbo diesel Duster with her quite a bit on road trips and absolutely loved it, despite some shortcomings in the equipment and rubbish finish here and there. My own car was a Porsche Cayman S, so that’s saying something. I think Dacia has truly nailed it. Which the sales though out Europe confirm 😎

4:42 as someone who has never driven or been in a Dacia - that IS a confidence-inspiring door closing sound.

I own a Duster 2022. And for the money it is unbeatable. Not a great car, but it checks all the boxes. Good for work, trips, hauling what ever you need, it has a tow coupling, good consumption. Was at the Dacia service a few days ago for a small yearly service. Sat int the new Duster. It is like night and day. Much better seats and sitting position. I hold the Duster for two more years and than I will get the Bigster. More expensive, but it is what I always wanted from car, and it won´t break the bank. After having far more expensive cars, I fell for the Dacia. You don´t bleed out money every time something breaks (and luckily, nothing did these past three years). Even the 2022 Duster has an interesting design. It is a little handsome car, that just works. Somehow I lost interest in leather seats, aluminium or wooden decors. Simplicity has it´s charm. Reminds me of the times when I was a kid, and cars were much more simple.

I had the feeling it is just a bigger duster, but after checking all the info, I think right now is a better buy than the duster.
Dacia confirmed that they are using thicker glass for the Bigster and additional sound proofing materials, an improved suspension and few other improvements plus the extras that you can't get on the Duster like the sunroof.
It's nice to see that they can make real improvements and provide a bigger car just for a small percentage of price increase.

Looks good, the ideal size for the 'Duster'. If only they still had a diesel option, a 2.0 dci would have made it the ideal SUV. From a current 1.5dci owner, the diesel is needed.

Had a test drive in the bigster journey hybrid yesterday, fantastic car drives really well very economical plenty of space for a family with the sun roof open really really good we have ordered the extreme top of the range 4 x 2 hybrid in black and bronze hopefully get it in early July

I wanted to buy mazda cx60 because I love mazdas.. but man, getting this for half a price is a real thing to consider. I just need to move from A to B with my family. Perhaps I grown old now😅
