I use to work in old Sac across from the Railroad Museum. There was a Kite shop and the property management company I worked for was on the second floor. Loved it when the Jazz Festival was still there. My boss was hard core but she believed in supporting the local businesses. She would buy weekend passes for the Jazz Festival and we could sign up to use the weekend pass for a day. Very generous lady. Took us to Christmas luncheon at the Firehouse Restaurant. Those were the days.

The 80’s were unbelievable in Old Sac. There were at least 5 full blown rock clubs in a four block stretch. Great time to be a Nor Cal rock musician.

I'm 62 now. When I was 13, I was the first to skate this ramp & tunnel from Old Sac to "K" street. It was all asphalt back in the '70s. (Thank you Cadillac Wheels) Back then, at the bottom of the ramp, it had a perfect 45° asphalt bank on each side. They've removed the banks, poured concrete, added lighting, opened up the tunnel and added the stairs up to the parking lot since then. There were no such thing as skate-pads back then so we used 'volleyball' elastic knee pads.

After living in Sacramento for 22 years I can honestly say I h8 the place, but the waterfront is a cool location. The railroad museum is a bit of a gem worth a visit if you ever go through.
