My biggest criticism with Reptile models, why don't they stamp the CoG in the foam!!

It's a nice looking plane Matt....I hope you won't be using it for tree dodging..?....lol.
Contra rotating props please....they both look the same direction to me..?

don't remove material from top if elevon remove from bottom if you must for control horn.. that plate of carbon is for more even pressure on elevon..

It was your Skywalker Falcon that lost its hatch. :-)

I can see this model in my future.
A few comments Matt. Wing chord is the length from LE to TE. Wing section describes the "thickness" of the wing. You probably know this but the pedant in me was screaming out :)
The elevon differential is on balance probably a good thing on a rudderless model since it will give a more coordinated turn when flown in a manner completely unlike your style :) In any case you can "de-diferentialise" the throws by offsetting the servo horns a notch to the rear.
Why not recreate the ply and screw idea of the front hatch onto the rear hatch?
I'd be interested to see the difference in efficiency between two smaller motor/props V a single larger motor/prop.

Mat for the control horn you issue you could drill a small hole at the bottom of the tongue that goes into the foam to take a short piece of wire or carbon rod.. On the bottom of the elevon cut a small slot across where the control horn tongue comes out to take the rod which would be tidy and lock that horn in rock solid after you glue that rod in.

ive got one of these on the way. i also have a reasonable selection of quad motors. my choices come down to either 2205/2300kv or dji 2212 920kv. i plan on 3s and building for long range endurance. id rather not be buying motors (i know i need to buy props). which motors would you suggest? this is my first self build

Matt... There is actually a real reason to have counter-rotating props....
