Caroline Kennedy Remembers a Visit to the Nixon White House

Caroline Kennedy recalls returning to the White House for the first time since 1963.

Caroline spoke very nice of the Nixon family and her memories. It was really nice to hear that the Nixon family treated Caroline, her mother, and brother so nicely.

I really...really...love what Caroline has to say.  Her words are both extremely personal....and yet she very naturally connects this private experience...to her vision of a United States that seems to be forgotten today. A United States where people belong to different political parties...have very different beliefs...and yet, those people realize we share a common goal...a common patriotism...common human/family experiences....and do not view each other as enemies....people to be avoided.  I dream of a return to this United States.

I'm sure for the whole family, it was a very substantive visit. I hope the cherished moments with their father & husband, came back to the kids and Jackie. I recall reading Julie Nixon-Eisenhower's memoir of her Mother, Pat Nixon: The Untold Story,
relating the Kennedy's visit to WH; very similar renderings of that meeting. It was an excellent book, and it fits in well with this video.

It's always fascinating to observe how different WH families interact with each other.

She's been through a lot of things, her father died when she's still 6, her mother had battle with cancer but didnt survive, her little brother died in a plane crash her little brother passed away just 2 days old, her uncle died the same way her dad died..strong woman
