People only for Masters if they never took a Bachelor of Accounting in the first place. I am currently contemplating dropping CPA to study hard for top MBA programs. I am currently working at KPMG as Audit Associate, and public accounting is boring. Many works are already being automated but largely outsourced to India, China, and Southeast Asia. CPAs will survive but the pay will get even worse. Software Engineers now don't make the same crazy amount as a few years ago, for example, due to the tech bubble bursting.

If you want more CPAs, then drop the credit expiration time limit for each portion.

Hi Professor! Thank you for this information. Regarding the Master's hiring trend, you mentioned degrees/skills in other fields besides accounting. Would you recommend a Master's in Accounting Information Systems, or a Management Information Systems degree (non-accounting)?

So my question will be what happens to someone who is half way done and gets caught between old & new format after transition?

Will business analysis and reporting have cost accounting? It looks like cost accounting is being phased out. I think they are still keeping the corporate finance stuff in that section.
