This is probably my favorite guitar instrumental of all time. He plays it so perfectly and doesn't get lost in trying to play fast all the time, it builds energy and then the solo just blows you away. He's amazing.

Guitars that Rule The World..a compilation album released by Metal Blade featuring several legends such as Yngwie; Skolnick, Sambora, Zakk Wylde, Nuno, Paul Gilbert, Albert Collins etc...those record executive knew Reb's "Black Magic" was the best so they had to put it as track no.1. Honestly his playing was well ahead of his time, nobody was doing those intricate melodic cross string tapping better than him

It is amazing how despite all the insane looking shred stuff a la Yngwie, Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert etc. that is out there, the opening riff of this song on the 12 position e pentatonic is something I have never been able to nail. That jump back from the g to low E string at this tempo while keeping the opening riff steady is diabolically hard.
