In case of limit we evaluate the limit at its neighbourhood of the limit point which may or may not in the domain ..hence the point at which evaluate the limit, the function may or may not be defined at that point ..but

In case of continuity it is not necessary for the point at which we estimate the continuity to be a limit point..thus the function is always defined at that point..
