That isn't a secret shopper, that is called plain clothes loss prevention. A secret shopper is someone that comes into a store, purchases items then reports back to their boss on their shopping experience.

Loss prevention just does their job which is to follow the merchandise. DVD's are probably top theft items and so they watch them closely.

She was doing nothing wrong. Her job is to watch people who pick up the DVD's. The only reason you should have a problem with them is if you are trying to steal the dvd's

I do LP. She fucked up by talking to the customer. The only time LP can talk to the customer is when making an apprehension.

I can understand how he feels. I shop awkwardly sometimes. I may go from one department to another. I mean unless someone is truly suspicious, looking around, with a group, going into fitting room with a bunch of stuff, than you should watch but innocent shoppers shouldn’t be watched. I want to shop in peace not followed.

This is just some guy playing The Victim. Asset Protection staff have EVERY right to prevent shoplifting. If this tender little snowflake PAYS for his stuff, he will walk out the door and NO ONE will bother him. The poor little shopper claims he has money in his pocket. Maybe, but how could the AP staff know that? "I could buy your jobs." This complainer is just looking for a fight. If I were the Manager I would have been more hardline with this troublemaker. That's what this dude is: a troublemaker. Seriously, if he talked to me like this I would tell him if he doesn't like it, he should shop somewhere else.

We live in a VERY black/Spanish area. When my GF and I shop in Walmart, we just pull out our white privilege card. It's the one I keep under my driver's license.
All kidding aside. We NEVER get our receipts checked at the door when leaving. We always take note. The people before us, and after us are asked for a receipt, and there carts glanced through. We just get waived on. EVERY TIME. It's absolutely racial profiling, without a doubt. The ironic part is, security are all minorities. They're profiling against their own people.
