You're probably considering this cheap portable carpet cleaner because you need something for light stain and spot cleaning. While this can be considered the best carpet cleaner on Amazon and the best carpet cleaner at Walmart, don't confuse cheap with lower quality. This Walmart portable carpet cleaner (that's where I bought mine) is tough and I've got the experience to prove it. You may have seen other bissell spotclean portable carpet cleaner reviews, but watch this one to see this unit in action to get the real review!
This is a home-grade extractor which has a built-in heating element to help make your pre-treatment solution more effective by utilizing heat, along with stain removing chemicals, to break up stains. From there, you simply extract the stains which will look like dirty water.

**UPDATE ON November 27th, 2019**
My Bissell Little Green Proheat has not let me down even after heavy usage for nearly two years! This was, without a doubt, best portable carpet cleaner in 2017. I remember using it on all of my upholstered furniture with excellent results. The next year, I can vouch for this being the best portable carpet cleaner of 2018. For that entire year, I used it on my own car (especially my floor mats), my neighbor's cars and one a few vehicles I made extra money detailing. Come this year (2019), I have been detailing 1-4 cars each week. Now, while each vehicle didn't need the carpets and seats shampooed, many of them did and I used this heated little portable carpet cleaner on all of them. I have used this machine many times and for many, many hours this year. I stand behind that this unit is the best portable carpet cleaner in 2019. You can still find the proheat little green like the one in the video for sale as refurbished and used, but new ones have a change in body design. To my knowledge, the internals are virtually identical. The new one, model 2513G, does have a more modern look. In addition to updated aesthetics, the Bissell Little Green 2513G has an updated price tag. On average, the newer model seems to cost around $20 more than the model reviewed in this video that I purchased in 2017.

Why do you think the hot water is better? Usually stains are removed with cold water as hot water sets a stain. Have you reviewed a cleaner (Bissell or other) that uses cold water? Could you tell any difference? Thank you.

You showed the before and after, but there were still some stains remaining when you showed the after.

I would have just let it spoke with the solution until everything is loose. Then I would scrub it in some water or have the hose on it. Then I would just use the machine to finish the rest.

Mine never really seems to get HOT!? I press that heater button and after just a few moments the red light comes on which is supposed to signal that it's hot. I don't know, maybe mine isn't working properly.
