With the release of “Seelie”, CLANN welcomes us back to the world of KIN Fables - a grand scale multimedia project captained by director/producer Seb McKinnon, encompassing original music and stunning short films. This is a visual/musical project, one as as melancholic as it is epic, as haunting as it is beautiful, with plans to culminate into a feature film (currently in late stages of development). The word clann comes from Old Irish, meaning family - indeed, the family of collaborators responsible for this odyssey returns with the signature ethereal vocals of Charlotte Oleena, as though singing words from an unknown or long forgotten language, and heart-wringing string performances by violinist Chloe Picard. With Seelie, they have refined their sound, while not losing touch with their cinematic arrangements, airy vocals, and trip hop/downtempo beats.

Dear CLANN,
I’ve always had a close connection and resonation with “hosts of the air”, as you have beautifully described such entities to be, and even inhabit. I like to think hosts of the air reside in, what I like to call as, The Realm of Ethereality (the afterlife/heaven). Ever since I was a child, I would “pretend” — or, perhaps, even detect — that there were angels surrounding me. Perhaps the term of “angels” is airy-fairy for others. Though, for me, I had always felt as though the noun of “angel” to not be powerful and all-loving enough to describe such beings above. Because I am very interested in terminologies and words, and the boundary between what I feel and the capacity of what English words can offer in my writing, I like to term their brilliance, infiniteness, etherealness, and creativity as something that I have much more creative autonomy over — such as a divine and creative essence, or an aura of unity and love. “Hosts of the Air”, CLANN, is such a poetic phrase for divine entities and beings, and I truly desired to let you know of how much this song — and all of the artistry and musical melodies that have been created for Seelie — has helped me to connect with the Love and Light from above; not with a lowercase l, but a capital L. With all of my sincerity, CLANN, thank you for your artistry and incredible melodies. I look so very forward to marveling at and hearing more.
