Ronin Dojo Pro O-katana 47.5 inch Dotanuki Samurai Sword For Power Cutting

preview_player
Показать описание
The Ronin Dojo Pro O-katana is the most aggressive dotanuki katana on the planet. Banned by the Shogunite in Japan, these are among the most brutal cutters ever produced.

The saya is a full rattan wrap with buffalo horn inserts. No other o-katana on the market can compare.

Stats:
Length in saya: 47.5 inches
Tsuka: 12 inches
Blade: 33 inches

@DJCuerex No, o-katana are heavier than normal sized katana. More steel = more weight. Some forges will put a bo-hi on both sides (groove) to lighten the sword. I do not believe in taking steel out of the blade.

You can't see the hamon, because this sword (all dojo and dojo pro series) is through tempered via modern methods, not clay tempered via traditional methods. Although hamon is beautiful (I own an Elite), it is something I found obsolete. For practical use and heavy cutting, I would recommend through tempered beater, just like this sword above. Also, I completely agree with Chris, I hate bo-hi on the sword :)

@IIIHagakureIII It really depends on my time allotment with the master smiths. I only get a few days with them per year. I should know more in February.

@hatsumisensi I can see it a little bit... It has a shadow hamon line... Also, they are all hand made, as said on the website...And if this was factory made, than you'd see a MADE IN CHINA print on the blade...

@Roninkatanas

I appreciate the steady replies & information, Thank you.
Well, If you do have an Elite O-Katana in the works, Im most definitively going to get that! Im a practitioner of over 6 feet! So a blade around 29 - 33" is best in my preference! Thank you! Im excited about whats to come!

Thats a badass katana . I own a couple of ronin katanas and I want to get 1 more solid dojo pro katana from them to complete my collection . I just wish they put just a little more effort in their polishing. But other than that they are very solid katanas and probably my favorite production katana . I guess thats because dotanuki style blades are my favorite . I would like to see ronin come out with a new dojo pro using through hardened 9260 spring steel . now that would be a fuckin beast of a sword

@wildyracing1 I think you're missing the point of why that's the case though, dojo use is cutting through materials like tatami mats.... That's why they can be through tempered.... The reason a traditional katana is split hardness is to give it the flexibility to hit another katana in a sword fight and not bend or break.
