I saw Tom and the heartbreakers in 2010 and still to this day was the best sounding band I’ve ever heard

To this day, I have not heard a better live guitar sound than Campbell's.

This guy obviously hasn’t been killing his ears all these years apparently. He is a top notch musician- how come he found no issues with 5-15 watt amps and all these other artists had to have armies of ear deafening beasts? Maybe 100 watt stacks made sense up through’68. But P/A systems have been around a lot longer than most people think

I thought Mike was playing through a Princeton Reverb all this time. Hell, he probably switches his amps out fairly regularly. I have a '73 Princeton that I've been using for the last 25 years or so. It's an incredibly clean amp, almost no overdrive/distortion. I run a tweed champ along side it and /or pedals for overdrive/distortion.

I notice with these Rig Rundowns, a lot of players seem to use more than one amp. I, as a player who can't afford roadies and can't lift heavy things, usually go with one small, light, good sounding amp, mic it if necessary, and put the best pickups I can afford in my guitar. That is how I get a great tone all the time!

The Princeton has to be '65. Wrong company name for pre-CBS.
