Would You Take This Job?
Sewer cleaners perform an essential yet challenging job. They ensure our waste management systems run smoothly, preventing blockages that could lead to flooding and public health hazards. This role involves navigating hazardous environments, dealing with toxic gasses, and handling waste materials, making it physically demanding and risky. Despite these challenges, sewer cleaners are often underappreciated and underpaid, with average salaries ranging from $30,000 to $50,000 annually. However, some positions offer benefits like health insurance and pension plans. The job’s harmful aspects, such as exposure to dangerous pathogens and chemicals, highlight the need for strict safety protocols and better compensation for these unsung heroes of urban infrastructure.

Where is this? I have 2 friends that did this kind of diving in the 1990's and 2000's and they made $10k-$20k per dive/job. They would only do a few dives a year and travel and enjoy the rest of the year. So yeah they "only" made $50k to 60k a year but they only actually worked 1 or 2 months each year.
