Fun fact: The snail actually survives these attacks quite commonly. Both the larvae, and the bird eating its face off. It can typically just regrow the stalks.

...Unfortunately, the fly that does this is aware of that, and will often keep placing more and more eggs in the same snail to simply repeat the process over and over...

Do the mind controll parasite that effects an ant, forcing it hang from a leaf. In turn it gets eaten by a bird, then it forces the bird to get eaten by a larger predator. Thats where it likes to reside, in dogs and such. I watched this whole documentary about it being a mind control parasite.

There's another similar, existing, parasite but it's in the form of a fungus. Look it up! (: it's called cordyceps or something like that.
