I think she answered the question. She spoke about how the channel of communication between her and her parents was always open. Irrespective of whether they spoke about it or not since Prajakta didn't understand what it meant and her Jr. College just went by hence her parents were there to listen to her but she didn't get herself into anything.

P.S.: She just explained how the functional setting was w.r.t. her parents and her.

This is true, people expect us to be strong enough to talk to our parents about our personal lives, but the truth is, parents need to create that safe space first for us to be able to talk to them.

For those who are saying she didn't answer the question, I don't think she didn't. She actually expressed by giving an example that it is easier to talk to parents about dating life when they are open to you, When they welcome you to share those things. Otherwise it will be difficult to get them understand about your relationships and dating life.

My parents are exactly the same. That's why they know where and with whom I am every moment of the day. Not because they are controlling or want to keep an eye on me. But in return for the freedom that they've given me, I make sure that they never have to worry with uncertainty about my whereabouts

My parents also gave me same advice although I was never into relationship because watching my friends being in relationship and facing everything from cheating to getting into abusive relationship and suicide attempts and all I was like "single hi achi hu" but yes having a good communication level with parents are so comforting
