Theres actually kill la kill and gurren lagann but thats just because old animators of evangelion and gurren lagan from gainax moved to studio trigger and made kill la kill and they said "these are connected. Why ? Because we said so👍"

This is one of the coolest thing ever to do! Read a banger manga (a classic) and then read another one years later that end up being the whole prequel to the classic you used to read a child, damn this is so cool. I've never seen anything like that be done in a manga before
