I had literally just shared the story of Rahab & the spies with our 11-year old grandson yesterday! It came up as we read of the lineage of Jesus & of all the stories of names mentioned, I felt to read the story of Rahab ... Thank You Lord for your timely reminders !

Matthew 1:5 and James 2:25 - Rahab can be found in the genealogy of King David and Jesus. It is good to remember her and learn from her: she was counted righteous for her faith and her acting upon it!

I just realized how powerful it is to turn from your idols and choose the one true God, to know that the stuff you were culturally raised with is empty and dead. Is not that the idols are sorta powerful, no, they are without life in every way, but God speaks and moves and has the victory forever

Leaving false religion feels like realizing you were playing around or lied to and now it gets GOOD because God is good

The Bible doesn’t say, but I’ve wondered. Was she sold into sex slavery by her father? Is that why she was in this position? If so, she was trapped and perhaps had been praying for God to deliver her. Because, not only did her deliverance came. She boldly recognized it and fearlessly and confidently embraced it.

Stop reading into the scriptures about what Rahab thought or assumed. The scriptures say nothing about that, so don’t add to scripture things that aren’t there.
