how did you find 3/2 as the answer if you literally used BM's measurement rather than finidng it with -kb + ka?

it been a year late, but i solved the alternate question for the last question. I basically solved for x, through the equation -) -3/2=-1/2-x. x=1. Meaning that XM=b, meaning that MX=-b=BO. Therefore MX=BO.
