Trial ordered for man accused of shooting SDPD officer after car chase

A man who allegedly shot and wounded a San Diego police officer following a car chase in a stolen vehicle was ordered Tuesday to stand trial on charges that include attempted murder of a peace officer.

Andrew Joseph Garcia, 21, is accused of shooting Officer Javier Hernandez three times at a Mountain View apartment complex just before 1:30 a.m., Dec. 12, 2022.

7 shots fired at that officer with 3 hits. That is a much better percentage than most officer involved shootings.

damn me and him were good friends in highscool. was so sad to realize his living condition in highschool then hear that he ended up joining a gang. he was cool as hell but i knew he was gonna end up like this 🫤🫤🫤
