Показать описание
In the middle of the Çankaya district in the center of Ankara lies Atakule, a 125-meter-high tower that serves as both a communication and viewing platform. Ragıp Buluç designed the construction of the tower, which was finally completed in 1989.
As one of the city's most important landmarks, Atakule towers majestically and attracts numerous tourists to bustling Ankara every year.
stroll around Atakule and enjoy the lively life of the Turkish capital in addition to a magnificent view of the Çankaya district. Since the Çankaya district is also on a hill, you can admire the tower from almost anywhere on a clear day. Incidentally, the word ata in Turkish means ancestor or also father in Old Turkish, which is often used as a nickname (Ata) for Mustafa Kemal Atatürk - founder and first president of the Turkish Republic. The word kule, on the other hand, means tower in Turkish.
After the entrance of Atakule, you first enter the shopping center. This shopping center has four floors. The four levels of shops include designer brands such as Lacoste and are interspersed with cafés, restaurants, coffee shops, and a state-of-the-art movie theater. If you fancy time outdoors afterward, take a stroll in the Ankara Botanic Park—an oasis of shady trees, lakes, and sculptures.
