Today we are talking about the FIFA dilemma: Where players look to buy it every year even though they hate it. The thing is, I myself have a dilemma: Do I buy it to properly review it or do I refrain and refuse to give money to EA Sports?

sometimes I feel that its a blessing to not be rich enough to buy the same trash yearly + spend a fuck ton on packs on a game that doesn't deserve it

The best solution for stopping EA would be content creators creating their content using the older version of the game and purposely discouraging other people of buying the game

You not buying the game would not create a financial crisis to EA, but with your videos of it, those could prevent others to not buy the game

NickRTFM has talked a lot about this and I think his thought process makes sense: If critical content creators don't play the game, there will be less of a critical voice in the space, leaving the supporters to have the largest influence on the community. As a regular person I'm deciding not to buy the game next year, but as a content creator with a following I think it's worth it as it can help people hear both sides of the story.

Been playing FUT since 11. First time skipping the game. I'm tired of EA. Fuck'em. Imma just wait for UFL even if they delay the game again, even when the gameplay isn't there yet.

I think you should buy it as an investment. An investment in yourself (because the videos you will be able to make will allow you to get your money back) and as a way to truly critic the game by what it is. I don’t think you’re being a hypocrite by buying it despite your strong position on why NOT TO, in my perspective you’re just being a content creator who wants to bring more attention into this cycle that gets worse and worse every year, and your videos are a necessary reminder of the state of the franchise

Its been 3 months since i last played fc24. The game started to feel like a chore, the only thing that kept me playing so far were the evolutions.

Buy an EA Plus for a month, experience the game for a 10 hour trial. Make a review. Cancel membership, that's the most reasonable way.

I've realized that games that involve grinding for RNG loot do a nasty thing to my brain chemistry. It feels like hunger that occasionally gets fed but ultimately more than anything, causes overstimulation and crashing. I've played 1000s of hours of Fortnite, Ultimate Team, The Division, and Fallout, and they have all caused me to feel this way such that ultimately I'd rather play other games instead. With time, I've realized that the sensation I've felt has to be a symptom of something approaching gambling addiction. I've always been very financially disciplined, so this hasn't cost me anything except my peace of mind, but chasing the dopamine hits isn't healthy when they're intentionally designed to be as sweet and as fleeting as possible.

Also a note on FUT specifically... why would I grind for a great team only to be matched up against only other overpowered teams. When they turn everyone's pace up to 95, no one is fast if everyone is fast. All it does is make the field smaller, which given the clunky momentum system, makes gameplay in the middle of the field worse and incentivizes cheese.

You can buy it during Black Friday or later in the cycle when the price drops. Mitigates some of the issues you pointed out. Just a suggestion

After playing ultimate team without buying any packs for almost a decade, I've recently switched to just playing online seasons with the normal teams, and I'm having more fun with the game than ever before.

No pay to win garbage, no grinding SBCs, and being good at the game actually matters.

Pay for 1 month of EA Play to play it for your research. It’s cheaper than buying the whole game

UFL has thankfully been delayed to December 5, 2024. More development time will be allowed because of this. I think its also smart because the UCL LP will be in 6 out of it's 8 matchdays by that point.

The whole fc Iq idea limits the creativity to properly use players, in some occasion when playing eafc 25 the wingers, stay in the same position while making an attack, yet, they have player role already assigned automatically by this Iq system

I buy a FIFA once every 4 or 5 years. Mostly for the career mode, and I enjoy it, cause I can play the game for multi-le years instead of rebuying it every year.
