Vi, quick fact check: the eggs aren't the only thing that makes raw cookie dough dangerous, raw flour can have e coli in it. You can make an edible cookie dough by pre baking the flour at 325 for 10 minutes on a cookie sheet. Let it cool, make your dough (omit eggs) and behold, safe to eat cookie dough.

17:30 Eggs aren't the only risk; the raw flour is arguably more dangerous in the US because eggs are washed here, while at the same time there isn't a cheap and effective way to sanitize grains/flour (which came from fields where things like birds poop on it). This is true for other things like corn meal, rice flour, etc.; they all have a safety risk when eaten raw.
