Ahoy, sailors! Enjoy my original sea shanty. I actually started writing this song in 2014! It was always one of my goals to go back and finish it and 2021's change of musical pace, along with the newfound popularity of sea shanties, gave me the perfect timing to do it! I like how it turned out :)

I love it! So many people just make ordinary songs with a sailor's theme and call it a "shanty" but often forget that shanties are songs that sailors would sing while working. Normally one person would lead with the actual lyrics while everyone else chimes in for the short and recurring chorus. So refreshing to see a new shanty that actually is one.

On a more serious note, it's a wonderful shanty, and I like it has a more "serious" and not light-hearted vibe like most of the popular shanties. I missed that feeling in a shanty/pirate music for quite some time now, thank you Gav.

What I hate most about this song is how hard it is to find more like it.
Nothing against traditional shanties, but this type of modern shanty with a powerful instrumental to back up the vocals just scratches an itch in my soul that I NEED to satisfy.

The inclusion of Greedfall made this just *so* much better, at least in my opinion. Unlike pretty much everything else you see in this shanty, it doesn't immediately spring to mind as something you would *associate* with a shanty, but if you stop and think about it, then yeah, it really does work.

There really needs to be more songs in this type of theme. Shanties are some of the most unique and exquisite music out there, and I am glad that there are those who are willing to provide such a gorgeous sound. This is definitely no exception as, hands down, this is beautiful straight through.
