How to Wire 3 Phase Motor to 480 volt system (STEP by STEP)

This video will show you how to wire up a 9 wire 3 phase motor to a 480 volt system.

and just as an aside those three wires you have left, you would connect them to a VFD in order to run there 3 phase motor, correct?

Its a matter of wiring the windings in series. (parallel for low voltage.) twist the wire nuts tighter and give them a tug.

will the nameplates usually list whether the motor is a delta or wye setup? and if not where do you find those charts?

You can do L1 to 1, 4, 7. L2 to 2, 5, 8. L3 to 3, 6, 9 and it would be the same thing. This is for 480 wye
