It’s really cool to see that my team that I graduated with has been in these past SF videos.

Two of the key things in Tech School, is to not be afraid to ask questions, and time management when you’re out of class, set up a routine of study every night after class, don’t get caught up in the new freedoms you have after class, and if you’re having difficulty during a segment of the training admit it and ask for help. If you can do that you will proudly become a Defender of The Force.

If your USAF Security Forces assigned stateside within the USA, all you really be doing is assigned as a gate sentry and scan ID/CAC cards at the base entrances, rain or shine or other inclement weather, at most you'll be able to patrol the flightline. If it's a large base within a big city, like Lackland in San Antonio, Texas you'll get plenty of base traffic vs being assigned out in the middle of nowhere like Minot AFB in North Dakota.
Being an SF Airman is alot better being assigned overseas like Italy, Germany or South Korea, you can see the country and experience the local culture.

I noticed in school that academics was not the biggest issue but physical fitness and injuries were some of the worst obstacles in the course. Basic doesn't do an appropriate job physically getting the airmen ready for the basics of the schoolhouse. They only prepare them to pass the PFT.

Went through it. I'm civilian law enforcement full time and do this. For anyone with questions I'm here to help. This academy you should know is federally accredited which is huge! I'm here for any questions and wish I went in earlier. By the way. 38 year old Warhawk so If you think you can't do it, think again!!

This is what I want to do after highschool. This will definitely help me out when I come back to the civilian life.

USAF Security Police-87-91. During my enlistment, I was stationed at three different bases. Back in the day Security Police were split into two branches; Security Specialists and Law Enforcement. I was LE. Had a great time, got to see a lot. Participated in a cold war exercise. We were deployed from Kelly AFB, TX to Lakenheath AFB, England. We set up Air Base Ground Defenses (ABGD)and had mock battles with British Paratroopers. Our lines were probed at night by SAS. After the exercise ended, we all got pissed drunk with the British paratroopers. My favorite base was Clark AB, Philippines. At the time the largest US over seas base in the world. 3rd SPG. There were 1000 Security Specialist and a little over 800 LE. Clark AB had motor cycle cops, horse patrol (Mounted Calvary) The horses were shipped over from Australia and off-base Town Patrol. If you were a cut above the rest, you had a chance for one of these positions. I had the honor and privilege to work Town Patrol. Mama San love G.I! While at Clark AB, there were several Coup attempts to topple the Philippine government. This is were are ABGD training came to bare. We had Mortar teams, 30mm grenades, 50 cal machines gun teams set up all over the base. I was on a Humvee with 50 cal. Our humvee was piled high with Law rockets, grenades, thousands of and not one shot was fired. Bummer! Prior to enlisting in USAF, I was in the Texas Army National Guard. I was mechanized infantry, 11-H. I'd rather be USAF Security Force than Army mechanized infantry. Humping gates has its advantages. I got plenty of dates humping the gates. Defensor Fortis!

My mom and dad both served in the air force doing this. I'm meeting with a recruiter today and this is what I hope to do.

I see everyone complaining about how they just scan id cards but so what? You get paid, can get free college, free healthcare, if you do it long enough you can get pension, all for working a few weeks and weekends a year scanning ids and you get military training

My advice if you want to become law enforcement there is definitely better ways to do it. Do not settle for security forces unless you really interested in working LE or security. There’s a lot of people that are miserable in this career field because it’s not what they thought it would be. Which I see what they mean but I’d definitely look at other options or do more research and see if you’d really like it. I hate seeing new airman be so miserable in the job and not like their job because at the end of the day It hurts the career field. I’m speaking of active duty experience btw
