I’ve got one, and I’ll never sell it. Such a reliable outboard. Parts for them can be a little hassle now a days but they are around.

I just bought a 2000 18 Nissan that won't run right when on the boat but runs great on the stand. I just got it hours ago. I'm hoping for clogged feul filters or carb or something simple, cracked stater? Timing out? It came with tank, manual and brand new plaining fin and 2 gallons of oil for $400. And the motor looks like new still. I think I scored a good deal even if I have to buy a few hundred in parts. These are good motors from my research so far. I have an 8.hp Tohatsu and it rips and only weighs 67 lbs and it's a longshaft. Starts on the 1st pull almost every time. I live on my sailboat so boat motors are a necessity for me. I also have a 2.5 liter Drag Mercury on my custom built one off Tunnel Hull boats I used to build. So I'm no stranger to going fast. Fun times, not today but I can remember lol. Cheers.

Have to say I'm looking at adding this engine to the family but need the weight of this motor? Would like to know if your still using it? What problems are you having or are you happy with your purchase?

Were you able to hook up remote throttle and shifter?

hello, I read that you also do 22 knots.. I'm on a 13-foot boat with a Nissan 18hp 2-stroke with my father, a 30-litre petrol tank, a 13kg auxiliary engine plus various fishing equipment, I reach a maximum of 12 knots..
