The complaints are insane. They want respect to the indigenous cultures but POINTS OUT the skin color instead of mentioning the real culture of the indigenous people? (LIKE DANCES, NATIVE CLOTHING, COLOR THEMES, FIESTAS, AND ALL OTHER STUFF THAT MAKES A CULTURE IN DEFINITON).
Some people really care too much about skin color, they don't even realize they kinda stereotyping or just being subtly racist without being aware of it.

I think that anyone who demands “diversity” no matter where it be is stupid. Having a mandate for differences just for the sake of having them is a poor reason and often leads to forced or mediocre characters.

I'm cool if hoyo added more dark skin character that would be great. But what hoyo said it's true. Genshin is just work of fiction. I'm so tired hearing people always saying Mondstadt is German, Liyue is China, Inazuma is Japan etc. Bruh, Mondstadt is Mondstadt and German is German. Hoyo just take inspiration not make exact copy of it. Stop comparing fiction that not even taking place in Earth, Milky way galaxy with real life. If you want learn or appreciate about certain people culture, go travel around the world and meet real people, talk to them and learn their culture directly.

As a Latin American, I have two problems, those people that don't know anything about South and Central America culture, making characters a stereotype with also disrespectful "black washing", ancient cultures weren't like that.
And by Hoyo, when they said that they are going to make a history based on Precolonial America, I was expecting less White Characters, especially Mavuika, since there were no totally white people in the continent before being colonized by Spain.
I'm mad at both of sides.

I can understand both sides, inspiration isnt copy and paste they can do whatever they want with their game but also they might as well respect each culture they take inspiration and represent them more accurately.

I have to say I think having VAs actually familiar with the original culture really adds to the game. Nazeeh did such an amazing job with Alhaitham, he's one of everyones top favorite babygirls now. And I remember when I was playing the way he said certain words I really felt like, so immersed and it really flowed and felt natural.

People need to understand that genshin is ran by a Chinese company. Meaning they are going to pander to their main demographic and Chinese beauty standards. I’m not saying I wouldn’t love to see more diversity I really would! But people need to understand the facts and some over reacting
