Karnataka's Animal Husbandary and Veterinary sciences minister, K Venkatesh, on Saturday said that farmers have been facing a tough time maintaining aged cattle and disposing of the dead. The minister further questioned, "If one can slaughter buffaloes and bulls, what is wrong with slaughtering cows?"

He also said that the amendment of the bill would be in the larger interest of farmers in the state.

Rahul, I'm using your latest post to communicate. The Karnataka win a great deal. Post winning, looks like we are falling into the same ditch of old congress. We need to grow better than AAP to prove congress credibility. As an example, to cater the promises, govt now increases real estate taxes, electricity charges, etc etc and boldly confesses we need to do this to give free. Is such free required? All the free are actually not free but taking from other's pocket and giving to poor. This is not called nyay. Can you please look into this chaos and fix it in grassroot level instantly before it becomes a ugly monster practice. People of India trusted you and expect change. Let's go for it with all fairness and no gimmicks like BJP or old congress.
